“It is not enough that a man has clearness of vision, and reliance on sincerity, he must also have the art of expression, or he will remain obscure.” —George H. Lewes

Arika Anderson

A born extrovert with a mantra that fuses honesty, compassion and loyalty, Arika has a natural ability to get people talking and make them smile. So it's not surprising that she decided to make a career out of starting conversations that help companies effectively share their stories in a way that puts their visions to work, leaves an indelible mark and results in measurable business results. That's one reason why she says working with iacunato/mclane suits her perfectly. The other reason is that working in the health care industry, often with clients that serve older adults, allows her to end every day feeling like she's made a contribution to something she really believes in.

Beyond thriving on creating new program strategies and landing media placements for iacunato/mclane clients, Arika is an avid knitter (a talent she attribute to her grandmother)—and the word is she's also a mean dodgeball player.

Possessing more than a decade of public relations and marketing experience, Arika received her undergraduate degree from San Diego State University, an MBA with an emphasis in marketing communications from Chapman University in Orange, Calif., and is currently studying for her accreditation in public relations (APR), which is held by only two percent of the world's PR practitioners.

"No doubt my mother, Judy. A single mother, she always inspired me to do my best and to believe that no dream was unattainable." "Besides my recent marriage to my college sweetheart, I am most passionate about older adults. Having cared for my grandmother and my husband's grandfather for many years, I have a strong connection with the often-forgotten generations. Because of this connection, I volunteer with many senior-related organizations including Elder Help and the Alzheimer's Association. I also sit on Elder Help's committee for their largest fundraiser Wine & Dine, and serve as a voice on the organization's marketing committee." "Favorite movie is Dirty Dancing, which will always hold a special place in my heart... I wanted to be Baby and fall in love with Patrick Swayze! As an adult, I prefer more epic-type films, like the Count of Monte Cristo and Titanic. Favorite actress is Kate Winslet and TV is anything reality." "I have two: people who are less than truthful, and those who are always late." "I would love to work in the nonprofit arena, specifically in a role having to do with older adults, such as the Alzheimer's Association or a senior-focused health care company. I definitely wouldn't want to work in sales."
