Debby Iacunato

For Debby, carrying out her passion for the art of marketing through her own firm is a destiny fulfilled—and, clearly, where she's meant to be.

Unlike those who discover their calling by default, Debby saw a clear path from a young age, beginning with working in her grandparents' independent businesses. She conducted classes and sales for a skin care line while in high school, followed by yoga and resume-writing businesses during her college years. Over the years, rich experiences and continuous growth in senior healthcare marketing, communications and public relations positions (including PacifiCare Health Systems, Health Net and Molina) ultimately led Debby to partnering with Judy in founding iacunato/mclane.

Counting the years spent in corporate life, the opportunities realized and roles played amongst her greatest accomplishments, Debby says health care continues to be a gratifying occupation "because it matters to everyone." Adding to those rewards—the fact that she still works with colleagues from 20+ years ago, and many are counted as valued members of the iacunato/mclane team.

Debby has both an MBA and a Masters in Management from Peter Drucker's Executive Management School at Claremont University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations and Fine Art from the California State University at Long Beach.

"My mother, because she pushed me to have a meaningful career, always believed in me, fully supported my dreams and is my biggest fan. She was also a working woman all her life and is very smart. I admire (most) smart people." "A wonderful marriage that will last a lifetime, strong ties with my family and extended family, as well as being with or in touch with them on meaningful occasions. Also, my long-time friends, my home (and how it looks and feels), my career and the ability to keep it evolving." "Movies are Titanic, Aviator, Annie Hall, The Devil Wears Prada and Bridges Of Madison County (movie and book). I like Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, Meryl Streep and Audrey Hepburn. Music? Bobby Darin and Harry Connick Jr. Favorite TV show is Biography." "People who are self-centered, not empathetic, selfish and/or stingy." "Being a magazine publisher or editor has always appealed to me. I like the word and visual relationships, and how news magazines need to be constantly relevant and topical to the readers they target. I'd never work in accounting. Don't like that black and white, absolute right/wrong thinking on a constant basis."
